Cow Parsley
Our garden in West Sussex backs onto a field and I'm a fairly 'live and let live' sort of gardener with the result that a number of wild flowers wander over and join the things I've actually planted.
Cow parsley has to be one of the prettiest of these - it's one of those flowers that probably gets ignored as it appears in every hedgerow. But the intricate masses of tiny flowers are worth a closer look.
The individual flowers are so tiny I chose to give an impression rather than represent each one - but I do love the way they seem to form little constellations like stars.
The blue background of the original design is the colour of a spring sky (on a good day, this is the UK!) However Cow Parsley has turned out to be one of those designs that works really well on many background colours.

I like asking friends and family for ideas - this version of the fabric was my answer to "I wonder what it would look like in pink?"
I was so pleased when one of my interior design clients decided they would like to use one of my fabric designs in a renovation project.
It's an old house, with the window overlooking an internal courtyard so the idea of a floral print appealed.
They loved the Cow Parsley design but knew the blue background would not work withe the newly purchased sofa bed. No problem - that's why I offer a fabric customisation service!
We discussed options, I showed them digital mock ups of colour ways and having narrowed it down I sent for printed fabric samples.
They chose a curtain rail with a modern 'wave' design that shows off the fabric beautifully, and chose a finish that matched their sleek new radiator.
I think they've successfully mixed timeless contemporary design with some classic treasured pieces, and they have a room and curtains they love.
