Rose
Sometimes I create a design as a conscious choice.... and sometimes it's the result of an accident.
We have a very pretty patio type rose in our garden, growing beside our drive. Its flowers are individually small, but a gorgeous pale soft yellow and it flowers prolifically from early summer to late autumn.
In mid summer it needs regular dead-heading and on one of these occasions an accidental snip too far took off a whole stem of rosebuds. Too pretty to consign to the compost immediately I brought them inside and put them in a little vase. That turned into a sketching opportunity...which turned into a fabric design.... which then turned into a luxurious velvet cushion with a toning back in bright green.
