\n\t\tCalifornia Dreamin’\n\t<\/h2>\n\t

This pattern was inspired by a trip to California long ago – on our honeymoon in fact.<\/p>\n

We had landed in New York, spent some time on the East Coast around Boston and then headed over to San Francisco.<\/p>\n

Before we went we’d watched a fascinating documentary about sea otters, and realising the coast of California is one place they might be seen, I was desperate to spot some.<\/p>\n

As we drove down Pacific Highway 1, I kept pointing at the sea, telling Jay to stop I was sure I’d seen a sea otter. Each time we pulled over I’d scan the ocean – til he’d say “I’m sorry… I think it’s probably a rock \/ sea weed \/ driftwood.”<\/p>\n

We didn’t get to see any otters on our drive – but we did get to Monterey Bay Aquarium in Carmel and saw lots of the furry creatures!<\/p>\n

Sea Otters like to float in the water, anchoring themselves by winding their bodies in kelp when they want a snooze.
